Roman Reznik belongs to one of the most prominent bassoonists residing in the Scandinavian region.
After studying in Vienna,Berlin and Basel Music Academies with teachers Milan Turkovic,Eckart Huebner and Sergio Azzolini, he occupies since 2009 the position of solo bassoon of Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra.
As a guest he was only invite to perform with such orchestras as: Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Konzerthaus Orchestra Berlin, Norwegian Opera, the Swedish National Orchestra.
Besides the orchestra activities, Roman is also very active as soloist and chamber musician.
As a soloist he has performed major pieces of solo bassoon repertoire with orchestras such as Oslo Philharmonic, Minsk Chamber Orchestra, The National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, Oslo Symphony Orchestra. He has commissioned and performed bassoon concertos by famous Norwegian composers Morten Gaathaug and Kjell Marcussen. During season 17/18 he will have premiere of the bassoon concerto also specially written for him by the prominent ukranian composer Yevhen Stankovych.
Parallely Roman is also pursuing a conducting career.He studied conducting at the Norwegian Academy of Music and Tchaikovsky Academy of Music in Kiev.
He has been participating in different masterclasses with renowned teachers and conductors such as Jorma Panula, Atso Almila, Neeme Jarvi Rune Bergmann,Alexander Polianichko.
Roman has conducted such orchestras as: Helsinki Sinfonietta, Seinajoki Symphony Orchestra Finland, Kharkiv Philharmonic Ukraine ,St Petersburg Symphony Orchestra and has been named Principal Guest conductor of the Youth Symphony of Ukraine Kharkiv since 2017. In 2018 he is making debut as a soloist and conductor with Szczecin Philharmonic Orchestra at the Choriner Musiksommer Festival in Germany.
